I want to do some more of these little guys. It's been so long since I've sat down and actually drawn any form of dragon type that I forgot how fun they are to draw. :) Anyway, this is a drake. Not to be confused with a dragon. They are very small, lack the ability to cast magic or breath fire and the like and have about the intelligence of a house cat. Though they are slightly trainable. This is a little boy drake, males have little throat sacks much like frogs do.

I really didn't want to put a highly detailed side panel, so don't get after me about it not being as detailed as the center piece. That's the main meat of the pie as it were. :D

And I'm going to scream if Photoshop borked the colors up again.

EDIT
Detail shots can be seen here.

Beautiful work! I love the colors and the layout of the piece is very interesting. The cherry blossoms on the sides almost have a magic eye feel to them (like if you look in the back of the book. . . I'm being confusing) anyway beautiful work and look forward to seeing more :)

awwww....he's so cute! Now that I think about it, I haven't seen any dragon work from you in quite a while.

I love how the side panels are just simple, with hardly any detail.
I wish you had a close up of the cherry blossoms from the center piece. They look very pretty.

I wanted to keep those trees super soft and sort of surreal like in quality. Dunno if I got the surreal part, but I know I got the soft down. lol Thanks Kata! :)

The colors look perfect dear! In fact I think they're my favorite part. A slight texturing on the dragon in places would add some more depth. This could be a personal preference. :)
