Finally finished this. Since I saw the movie, and then read the comic, I've become a bit of a V for Vendetta fan. I just couldn't resist making my own fan art, even though I'm not much of a fan artist anymore, but these two characters are just really cool and deserving of their own image. I really wanted to go for the still helpless and afraid Evey Hammond, clinging to V in an effort to get protection from the dark and scarey world around her. Hope I did them both well.
I will say this though: DAMN YOU Natalie Portman for your soft and angelic looking face for you are a difficult woman to draw! Your lips in this image forever frustrate me! >:[

It looks much nicer when there is a black background. You can see all the details. Full view would probably also be good.
Yes, it is. I much like the comic though. But I can't wait for the DVD of the movie to be released. Which the wait for me has been like... forever. >:[
Wow girl the hair is stunning! The mask is awesome too. I've never seen or read V but I wanna. Your art really does it justice, at least what I know of it. The only thing I can think of his his grip on the knife. It looks tenuous, like he doesn't have a firm grip or maybe he's just letting go.

Thanks! Her hair was a monster to do. I never have painted wavy or curly hair before. Thanks for pointing out the finger though, I should go back and fix that as V's finger should be lightly holding it up with his thumb too
I read your post on the livejournal... this is absolutely stunning - and Evey looks wonderful, you've captured them both... so well. I love this piece.
Marvelously done! Top notch handling of painterly details and skintone in particular. This is a piece of fanart that does plenty of justice to V and thensome.
I twittered all over this on the lj post, but had another question for you: what is the symbolism behind him distancing himself from the knife in that way? My own two reactions were simple ones, such as V didn't want Evey to be hurt by his knives while she held him, so he removed one or so. The other is more symbolic and seems as if he's offering up his knives and days of killing for the safety and companionship of Evey. I'm probably reading into this waaaaay too much, but I want to know your feelings toward it when you were creating it. It's always so wonderful to find art of these two that is well-polished and thought out.

Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.

The lighting looks very well done. The hair looks as though it was hard to do. o.O Very dramatic.
