Oh Distractions - How I Hate Thee

With the end of a rather pleasant three day weekend winding down, I feel that what I could have accomplished in these past three days fell incredibly short of my projected goals.  If there is one thing I cannot stand it's constantly getting distracted by various technological contraptions I have either around me or on my computer. Some days it's easier to ignore them than others.  But as of late, I feel like if anything beeps, twits, buzzes, rings, WHATEVER, suddenly my focus on art gets sucked away and my brain goes into, "Ooooo... SHINY" mode.  It's rather frustrating when you've got two illustrations staring back at you and you can't stay focused on either one.  I ponder over whether or not there is a motivational issue going on, but, with how desperate I am to get some additional portfolio pieces done (not just for the portfolio sake but so I can show stuff at IlluxCon this year too), I can't say that I shouldn't have enough motivation to actually work on things.

Actually, thinking on it now, I think what it boils down to is that I've got far too much stuff to accomplish in what I feel is too little time. With my thoughts in line of quitting my job, rounding out a portfolio, pimping my art, cleaning house to perhaps move, among a host of other things on my To Do list, I suppose my brain is overloaded with tasks.  *sigh* Even my music that I listen to is distracting me from actually writing this journal. >.>

Damn ADD.

Oh well, back at it to see if I can get anything else accomplished today.
